What is wedding photojournalism?

Well it simply means that I tell the story of your whole day through my images, with no posing, prompting or intervention. My aim is to capture all the personality and emotion of your wedding or civil partnership in a series of natural and candid photographs.

I won’t tell you where to stand, ask you to say ‘cheeeese’, or boss you around. I just want you and your guests to enjoy yourselves without me distracting you from the fun of your big day.

On the day

I arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony to capture the preparations and build-up, then onto the ceremony venue where the guests are arriving and mingling. With the permission of the officiant or registrar I shoot discreetly throughout your ceremony, and afterwards as you greet all of your friends and family.

I take a short break whilst you and your guests eat, then it’s on to the speeches and your first dance, followed by the evening party. I stay long enough to capture a few shots of your guests throwing some shapes and then I disappear into the night.

What happens next?

Within a matter of days I will have removed the images that didn’t work out, and performed all the colour corrections and black and white conversions, leaving you with a final set of at least 200 images. You’ll receive all of these images in a slideshow on DVD, in an online gallery which you can send to your family and friends and on a disc as hi-res image files that you can use to produce your own prints. I also offer a choice of books and albums which you can treasure forever.
