Alice and Al – Wedding photography in Dunnerdale, Cumbria

Alice’s family home in the Duddon Valley in the Lake District was the incredible setting for her marriage to Al. Both musicians themselves, and Al with his own record label, they called on lots of friends and family to fill the day with music.

So we had organ and cello solos in the church, a Gypsy Jazz band during the reception and part of the evening, then a classic wedding band made up of guests, with performances from the bride, the groom and even the bride’s father.

Caroline & George

Caroline & George returned home to the Lake District for their wedding at St Cuthbert’s Church in Lorton, near Cockermouth. Then it was a short hop across the field to Winder Hall for the reception.

The weather was quite normal for this summer: cloudy, muggy and with the odd shower of rain. A shower prevented Caroline from walking across the field to the church and so instead she arrived in a pick-up with a couple of dogs in the back. However, the weather lifted long enough for the newly-married couple to head back across the field with their guests in tow before the heavens opened again.

A great day filled with fairy wings, morris dancing, hay bales and the most energetic dancefloor full of guests I have seen in a long time.
