Fifth again!?

During a break from shooting Rôla and Simon’s wedding on Saturday (more on that later this week) I got news of further success in the latest quarterly WPJA contest.

For anybody new to the blog, the Wedding Photojournalist Association hold a contest four times a year, and some of the best documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best images with the top twenty images in each category being recognised on the WPJA website.

I’m pleased to say the below image from Jess and Guy’s wedding last September was placed fifth in the ‘Action’ category.

And in at number five…

It’s always nice to get a bit of recognition for my work, and especially when it comes from other photographers.

This week fellow photographer Randolph Quan has included me in his annual ‘Top Ten UK Wedding Photographers’ list, which is very good of him.

My brides in Cosmopolitan Bride

Mark Wallis - Wedding Photojournalism in Cosmopolitan Bride

Four of my 2008 brides (Sarah, Fiona, Caroline and Becky) feature in a hair and beauty supplement that comes free with the April/May issue of Cosmopolitan Bride, out this week. They each tell the story of their wedding day hair and get a photograph of themselves by yours truly in print, and I get some free promotion! Always welcome.
