Lots of good news this week from two different competitions.
Firstly is a competition run by Tate Modern, ‘Street or Studio’, that was an addition to their exhibition
‘Street & Studio’ that has just finished. 100 images were chosen by
Juergen Teller (among others) from over 3,000 entries to their group on Flickr. The winning images will be published in a
book available soon, and I’m happy to say that the below image from my recent India trip will be included!
Secondly is the latest WPJA contest in which I received 4th and 10th place in the ‘Details (Found)’ and ‘Great Natural Light’ categories respectively for the below images from Maj-Britt & Neil’s wedding and Orlanda & Mark’s wedding. This time I get actual awards rather than just a little image for my website, so expect a photo once they arrive from the US!

Caroline & George returned home to the Lake District for their wedding at St Cuthbert’s Church in Lorton, near Cockermouth. Then it was a short hop across the field to Winder Hall for the reception.
The weather was quite normal for this summer: cloudy, muggy and with the odd shower of rain. A shower prevented Caroline from walking across the field to the church and so instead she arrived in a pick-up with a couple of dogs in the back. However, the weather lifted long enough for the newly-married couple to head back across the field with their guests in tow before the heavens opened again.
A great day filled with fairy wings, morris dancing, hay bales and the most energetic dancefloor full of guests I have seen in a long time.

A return visit to South Wales for my first Lindsay & Simon of 2008 (next Lindsay & Simon in October!). The ceremony at a tiny church in the village of Wenvoe, near Cardiff, was followed by a reception at
St Donats Arts Centre in the grounds of St Donats castle. A great, light venue with views across the sea to Devon, and another Saturday filled with threats of showers that thankfully failed to materialise.
