My fellow wedding photographer Duncan Kerridge has started a petition on the Downing St website regarding a subject close to photographer’s hearts. This petition is for the government to issue guidelines instructing all registrars offices to allow professional photography throughout ceremonies.

All around the country registrars regularly prevent photographers from shooting during the wedding or civil partnership ceremony, and the signing of the register, despite there being no law against it. Some registrars mistakenly believe there to be restrictions by law, some just like the feeling of power, but either way it can often mean that the most important and emotional part of your day is not captured.

If successful this clarification will make a photographer’s job a lot easier, and your wedding photography will be much more comprehensive. Please click here to sign the petition, and pass it on to your friends and family.

Lisa & Andy

Here is the first of my ‘catch-up’ updates!

Lisa & Andy were married on 28 April 2007 at Lisa’s old school in Woodford Green and had a subtle ‘Hollywood’ theme to the day visible in the outfits, the signage and menus, and even the introductory music for the speakers.

New site!

It’s been a few weeks in the making, but I think it’s finally time to reveal my new website. It’s bigger and better and more informative. I can update it much easier and it can improve and grow, particularly the FAQs and Links sections. But most importantly I have now joined the ranks of the blogging masses!

I’ll be posting sneak previews from the weddings that I shoot and anything else that takes my fancy, so bookmark me, subscribe to the RSS feed or just pop by occasionally for an update. And if you have any feedback, please leave a comment or get in touch.
